This was Planned* is a New York/New Jersey based band formed by guitarist/vocalist Abigail Zachko with Mike Caminiti on drums and Joey Caride on bass. Combining the techy elements of prog with the catchy riffs and pseudo sing-able guitar lines of mathrock, This was Planned* delivers an upbeat repose from the monotonous drone of modern day living. Their debut single “Seafoam” had instrumentals similar to early 2000’s Chon complimented by female indie vocals to help create a bed of complex sound. They followed this with their debut full length album, Sunshine Lullaby, to add to the diversity of their catalogue. Their live shows are filled with passionate fun as each of members strive for the audience to feel the same. This was Planned*’s sound is often compared to Chon, the Fall of Troy, Strawberry Girls, Covet, Hail the Sun, etc..
